The significance of the candle with Easter Day

Easter Day.
A day where all Christians around the world rejoice with the resurrection of the Lord on this day.
The night before Easter , Easter Vigil is celebrated by the Catholic Church.
A big candle lighted by the priest signifies God's light into the world.
In the dark church stands many people holding an unlit candle.
This signifies the world before creation.
Then the priest enters with the candle and the altar servers light their candle from it.
That signifies God's light being given to the people.
And from that the servers move around and light the candle of the people and everyone spread it on.
That signifies people sharing God's love and light for us.
Whenever the candle of someone goes out he/she looks for someone to light their candle back.
That is similar to us whenever we are down and under, we need someone to enlighten us so we look for help.
So that is how God's love and light in the world is spread among us.
On Easter Day we rejoice and are happy.
Let us continue to share this wonderful thing.

I tell you dear readers that there is nothing like a dark place filled with lighted candle.
It is such an amazing sight that you don't get to see all the time.
And in that darkness with the light of the candles we sing like a choir that makes it even more enlightening.
This is how great we humans can be if we are one.
There is nothing as great as being one and having no conflicts with one another.
So I wish everyone all the best and Happy Easter.
God Bless.

My first time in an orphanage

How are you readers?
I hope you are doing fine.
Well I'm wondering, have you ever been to an orphanage??
Because I haven't and today was the first time I've ever been to a home of any kind.
It was the Vinashini's Home at Mambau.
It is a beautiful place where they care for the mentally retarded and disabled.

I woke up early this morning to get ready to head to school.
I was going to follow my Catholic Community Club teacher to go there along with some others namely Bernard, Keith, Cameron and Russell.
We left at 9.35 am and got there around almost 10 o'clock.
We entered the Home and saw the rest who came by themselves sitting by the table at the entrance.
While waiting outside, one of the orphan came out and started shaking hands with all of us.
He was a short Chinese boy with an interesting character.
His name is Sivaji (He is Chinese but they do not know his Chinese name)
He could not speak very well but yet we were able to communicate with him.
And there was another hyperactive boy sitting by the table.
He was making weird noises and doing weird stuff.
Its pitiful if you were there looking at him.
Then we were introduced to the place by the son of the owner of the Home (I forgotten his name >.< )
He said that the monthly expenses to run the Home is RM20000- RM 30000.
It is a huge amount. Can you imagine if the government or the visitors do not give donations how would they be able to run smoothly.
After the introduction, he welcomed us in and gave us a tour around the place.
The orphans are in a wide from of young to older orphans.
It was a huge place well designed.
There was a huge living room with a television, a kitchen, a place for the girls to sleep and a place for the boys which are separated, a playground outside, a room which is going to be used as a study room and a huge space for activities to be held.
After all of that, we sang some songs for the orphans.
We sang some songs that Amos brought along but it was difficult to sing so we decided to sing some nursery rhymes which they could understand and enjoy.
Songs like Baa Baa Black Sheep, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and If You're Happy And You Know.
They enjoyed that but not up to how I expected.
It is because they are not like us, they are unable to think well like us and actually understand how fun it is suppose to be.
I felt very pitiful looking at them.
After the singing we were given some time to spend with them individually.
We got to know a cute small kid who was a fast learner, a small hyperactive boy that we call Little Messi, Nitthya(I think thats how its spelled) who is a small girl, Sivaji an interesting short fellow and some others.
We got to know some of their sad stories.
It was sad how some of them lost their parents or some being left somewhere just like that.
Its inhumane of them to do such a thing.
We thought the cute small kid how to write.
As for Little Messi we played around with him.
We thought Sivaji how to 'show some love' with a fist and show the peace sign.
But the one which was very pitiful was Nitthya.
She was left behind by her parents in a hospital when she was young.
She is unable to walk and is blinded on one eye.
We could not communicate with her because we did not know how to speak in Tamil but she communicated with us just by holding our hands.
It was strange how she had fun just lifting and shaking our hands.
But somehow is like God holding your hand and smiling.
There were many more sad stories in that place which I will not mention all.

I took some photos there but I'm unable to upload the photos because of some problems uploading.
I really learnt a lot going to this place.
I have learnt how truly fortunate many of us really are.
This people are unaware of what is happening and are in their own world but yet they can be so happy.
We who are fortunate do not appreciate what we have and we make a fuss out of a lot of things.
I am thankful that people like , Angela Devi, the owner of the Home exist in this world to take care of this kind of people.
They are blest in a way through people like her.
I hope you all will find some time to go visit a Home like this and learn something out of it.
Till then readers, take care.\

Attending the Judo selection camp

On the 11th of March 2010,
I have left home after school at 2.45pm to head to the Seremban 2 Sports Complex.
Along with Alex Wong, we arrived there just on time for the welcoming speech.
We were introduced to the coach, Mr.Lee , his daughter who is a gold medalist for Judo, and his black belt student, Tham, who was HUGE!!!
Then the officer gave his speech.
The speech by the officer was encouraging and so we went on for some food after that.
And then we headed for the hall with the tatami mats on the floor.
We were split into categories according to our weight class.
The girls went on the mat first while the boys waited on the other side of the hall.
We saw what the girls were doing.
It was a fitness exam.
Then not long after came the boys turn.
The exam is slightly different for each weight category but every group had some similar ones.
Which is carrying someone who is one category below us and running back and forth.
It was on both hands first and then on the back.
In that exam I carried my friend , Heng Yi Min, who weight 97kg.
It was no easy job carrying someone that heavy.
I fell down twice and I pulled my hips muscle a little and my forearm got numb.
It went on with doing squats by the 20 count, then running across to the other side and doing sit-ups to the 20 count, run back across and doing burpees by the count of 20.
It was no easy task for sure.
That exam was used to choose the team that is going to join the camp.
The rest are to call their parents and head back home.

Now that is what happened at first.
The camp was long and tiring so I'm just gonna blog interesting and memorable times:

During the nights of the camp we watched videos about Judo.
We learnt techniques from that.

We learnt how to break falls in a very interesting way.
We got thrown around like toys.
Two of them got horribly thrown around by the 'sensei'
One was a guy- He was thrown around so badly that the 'sensei' played around with him
The other was a girl- 'Sensei' threw her around so hard despite her being a girl. Her 'Gi' was all opened up and her hair was messed up.
And as for me I finally got to feel how its like to be thrown over.
He threw me over himself and I slammed the mat really hard.
It was so fun >.<

We woke up early for a morning exercise which was extremely intense and tiring.
Imagine 30 minutes non-stop of jogging and then 50 push-ups for separate hands.
The 2nd morning was worse, after 30 minutes of jogging we did like 200m duckwalk.

On Saturday night we played spirit of the ball.
We talked a lot and got to know each other.
We laughed so much that night and formed a "Oh, yes ahhh???" group.
It was an awesome night.

All in all, the camp was awesome but very exhausting.
Well this are the fun times that we will miss some day in the future.

Expect the Unexpected / Sometimes...

Sometimes things in life just do not go the way you want...
But you still have to live on...
Sometimes what you want does not seem to happen...
But what can you do about it....
Sometimes what you wish for do not come true...
But you still keep hoping it will...
Sometimes you expect something to happen...
But it may not happen...
Sometimes you say you would do something...
But you might not...
Sometimes happiness will fade away just like that...
But it can come back anytime...
Sometimes sadness fills your heart...
But joy comes just to take it away...
Sometimes anger conquers over you...
But there is a feeling that calms it down...
Sometimes darkness takes over...
But there is light to shine upon it...
Sometimes kindness is repaid by ungratefulness....
But you are still happy you did it...
Sometimes you do not have to do things...
But you still do it...
Sometimes you make the wrong decisions...
But sometimes you make the right ones....
Sometimes you got to relax...
But sometimes you have to work hard...
All the things in life have its possibilities...
We do not always get what we expect to happen...
But as long as we give our best in what we do...
This sometimes are always worth it...

A whole week of Chinese New Year fun

Happy Chinese New Year readers..
I'm sorry for not blogging so much lately...
Have been busy..
Well its already a week away from the Chinese New Year holiday week but I'm gonna blog about what I did anyways...
We had one whole week of holidays for Chinese New Year..
I was invited to my friends house for almost every single day...
So this is what I did (It's long as usual)

The first house on Monday (Alex's house)
It was a Monday morning, I woke up early and had my breakfast. I got prepared to go to Alex's house and left early because my mother is sending my brother to college on the way. It has been raining since three days ago and it was still raining that morning. My mum dropped my off at the bus stop near the Domino's Pizza. I took my X-box 360 along. Yi Min and Bryan Han was already waiting there for me to arrive. Alex did not want us to go to his house too early. It was around 9+ in the morning. So the three of us went to a Chinese shop to 'Yam Cha' first. We sit there for a while then decided to go over to the mamak stall to have breakfast.(They did) We sat there for some time until after 10. We were supposed to buy some pizzas from Domino before going to Alex's house. But Domino only opens at 11am so we decided to walk to Alex's house first. We arrived there after a 15 minute walk. Alex has two dogs, Casper and Phoebe(I think thats how its spelled). Casper was fierce but Phoebe was adorable >.< . Okay so we went to Alex's room and chit chat for a while. Then we decided to use the X-box I brought just to realise, I have forgotten to bring the most important thing... THE BOOT DISC!!! After all the commotion I decided to go to Terminal 1 to buy a new one.(Becuase my mum did not want to bring it for me -.- ) I went there along with Yi Min. It was a half an hour walk there from Alex's house. We could not get the boot disc because there we no more stocks. We bought some snacks, orange juice and cranberry juice as Alex requested before taking a taxi to get back to Domino. We waited for a while to receive our order. Then... We walked back to Alex's house with 7 pizzas all placed in one plastic bag!!! I had to hold it with both my hands wide apart. I looked like a fool walking on the road with it. Every car we passed by, the driver stared at me. A lorry driver that passed by even said
" Wah, that's a lot of pizzas. " When we got back we had our lunch. We played Alex's PS3 instead. Then the guests(all our friends) came one by one as time went by. After some time Jason Too came and we started gambling (Chinese tradition). While gambling I was having a glass of red wine which was very dry and kinda strong. It was 13.5% alcohol. I got a headache after that. I had fun playing Call of Duty: Black Ops with Vijay, Adrian, Jason Too and Lai. It was an awesome game we played that day. We played for so long.
Then, we played this game called Little Big Planet 2. That game was so fun. We laughed so much playing that game. And so the day went by. We had pizza again for dinner (Pizza Hut this time) and I stayed there till around 10.30 pm . Harish, Jason Too, Philip and Jerome stayed over at his place. It was a fun day.

The second house on Tuesday (Philip's house)
I went to Philip's house at around 5pm . I was the first one there (Not what Philip expected). We were having a potluck dinner that day. I brought egg sandwiches . And yet another house with a dog. The name was Fifi. The moment I entered his house, his dog was stalking me everywhere I go.(P.S. I am afraid of dogs a little) At first I was a bit scared of it, later I was playing and talking with it... Hehe XD . Philip was tired when I got there because he and the rest slept late last night at Alex's place. Since I was there early, he asked whether I wanted to use his computer but I decided to watch television. Black Butler at 5.30pm and Oh! My School (A Korean variety programme) at 6. While I was watching tv, Lim came with a carton of Coca-Cola. I continued watching tv with him while having a chat. Then Philip gave us a packet of Double Decker to share. His dog was jumping on us and barking trying to get it from us. To avoid that we hid the pack behind of us and ate like that... Haha XD . At around 7+ , some of the others started to come. By 8 o'clock almost everyone had arrived. We were gather outside around the table to mix the 'Yee Sang' first as a Chinese tradition for good luck. We had fun doing it because we were all teenagers and it got messy... Haha XD . After that we had our dinner with all the delicious food brought by everyone set on the table. With some music on using Daryl's laptop (I think it was his laptop) with Harish's stereos, we chit chat and enjoyed our meal. After eating, I challenged some of them around me to a competition. It was one of my favourite which was who can put their hand in the ice box for the longest time. I really enjoyed doing that whenever there is an ice box around. A few people accepted my challenge and the one's that lasted the longest of course is me and Lai. During the competition, my hand was starting to freeze but I did not give up, so I took my first ever can of beer that night to warm me up. Alex said "You always ask me not to drink so much but you opened the first can of beer?" Haha.... He was right about that. We lasted for around 4 minutes and then when we decided to take our hands out at the same time, Lai tricked me and I lost. I gave him RM1 (which Loi gave to me earlier) . After all that, it was time to gamble inside the house. We gambled for around an hour. We had ice-creams with whipped cream and chocolate too. Alex did his with beer. Before the real fun really began, my dad called. He said he was around and is going to pick me up. It was merely 10.30pm and I was the first to go back. What a waste >.<

The third house on Thursday, First day of Chinese New Year (Lim's house)
I left my home at 7pm. Again I brought my X-box 360 because Sachin and Vijaya asked me to. When I arrived, Sachin, Vijaya and Joeyee was already there. I placed my X-box on the floor beside the living room table. I had a chat with Vijaya and Sachin outside while waiting for the rest to arrive. When Gerard, See and Kew arrived, we went into the room to fix the X-box on the television. We play Naruto first and then Fifa 2011. While we were playin Lai came. After that I left Sachin, Vijaya and Lim's little brother to play with the Xbox while I headed to Lim's room. They were already started to gamble when I entered. I joined in as usual XD . We were gambling while the girls were using his computer. After some time I started feeling hungry (never expected there to be no food to eat. Lucky I ate a little before coming) , so I asked for a drink. After gambling for some time, Vijaya father came and he went home. We decided to stop for a while. Sachin had already went back while we were gambling. Not long after, we started gambling again. Because we were losing to the dealer (See Soon Yang), we used a different decks of card (Philip's cards) and gamble at a different place (the dining room). We said it was to change the luck (feng shui.... hehe XD) . And guess what?? It really helped and See who won RM150 earlier lost RM160. It was gonna be 12 midnight. Slowly we started heading home. I was the last to go back that night. It was another fun night chatting while gambling. I was invited to Joeyee's house the next day (It can be consider making a new friend that night) .

The fourth house on Friday, Second day of Chinese New Year (Joeyee's house)
It is the second day of Chinese New Year so I had to go to my mother's side of the family for gathering as usual. I ate like crazy for lunch XP because they were all so tasty. I got a lot of 'ang pow' too XD . After that my dad decided to go to KL where my father's side of the family is gathered at my cousin Danny's house.
I slept the whole way. We were lost finding his house. Soon after we found it. I did not wanted to go there at first. But I had fun there meeting up with my relatives. We had steamboat. I was using my cousin's computer after that. At around 6pm we headed back home to Seremban to have our dinner at my grandpa's house. After dinner, I left for Joeyee's house at 8pm. Boy was the house big. I was shocked when she said that I could have gone in from the other gate on the side. I was like "OMG!!! Got another gate on the side??" . It was a double level house. Some of there who where there were watching tv downstairs. As usual we had a chat while watching tv. Not so long after the guests started to arrive. We began gambling . Joeyee's dad sponsored money to her for banking (RM50 OMG!!! XD). Instead of playing 21 (blackjack) today we played a game called 'Ngau' . Lai explained to me how this game worked. Joevin (Joeyee's brother) did some dealing too. After a while we went to a table in the kitchen and played against Joeyee's father. His father was pro. He won us like crazy with doubles. It was the first time in the week I started losing money a little. After everyone lose a quite a sum of money, we stopped and moved on to play blackjack at a different spot. That small group did not lasted long. Joeyee asked us to combine with the girls in a room with a table there. Sean was the dealer this time. We played very long there. Sean lost a lot of money and finally Joeyee took over and became the dealer. But thanks to Sean losing so much I got back my 'modal' that I lost earlier. Then, Joeyee's mum came by. She took over for just one turn and she was so good at it. She could tell whether we burst or not. Both of her parents were very good at gambling. Half way while gambling her mum came with a basket full of 'ang pow' and gave out. We laughed and played like crazy that night. We had lots of fun. We gambled until past midnight and did not realise the time. My dad called and said he was outside. Everyone's parents we waiting and we rushed out. There were still some of them there. I made quite a number of friends that night.

So that is what I did throughout the week.
I had lots of fun and made some new friends.
Me and my friends don't usually gamble but only do it for Chinese New Year.
'Its once a year' we keep saying.
Win or lose we had lots of fun and laughs.
I started to enjoy beer a little but I'm not addicted to it .... Haha XD
Chinese New Year is fun.
I got a hell lot of 'ang pow' .
With the 'ang pow' money and the money I won while gambling I made RM200 that week.
I wish we can always have fun like this every year and in other occasions too.

Lim's 17th Birthday

It is the 15th of January....
Its just one day before Lim's actual birthday...
He has invited some of us, his friends over to his house to celebrate his birthday....
I left my home together with Alex as soon as he came by....
We got there at around 5 o'clock ....
The house was kinda big....
It was a big single-story house....
We entered with the ingredients to make cocktails....
As soon as we enter, we headed for the kitchen to put the stuff into the fridge....
Philip had arrived there earlier than us...
As usual, I like to tour around the house of people when I go there for the first time...
We entered Lim's room (when he said not to) and put our bags in there....
After successfully putting the things into the fridge when there was no space in it, we decided to try out some cocktails.....
Alex made a 'Flaming Cow' for us to try....
While that was being done, Philip and me were having shots of whiskey, vodka, and whatever was there...
Only two shots of the Flaming Cow was made....
It was the first time I took anything stronger than red wine....
The same goes to Philip and Lim....
Alex is used to it so what can I say... He is the DON!!!
And so we tried the Flaming Cow....
Alex showed me an example of how to take it first and he showed an extremely crazy reaction....
It was freaking hot that he jumped around...
Then it was my turn to try....
I blew the flames off the top of the layer of whiskey...
The moment I tried to take it, I burn my lips as it was seriously hot...
It was like drinking water as soon as it boil...
But without much hesitation I took the whole thing in a shot and boy was it nice...
The experience was awesome...
You can feel the burn down your throat all the way to the stomach and then the milk cools it off....
Next, Alex decided to make this cocktail that uses orange...
I've forgotten what it was called....
This is a picture of it....

After making it, he gave a glass to Lim and one for himself...
Philip and me shared one by splitting it into our shot glasses....
Well, I think we took too much of alcohol and chocolate so early on the day....
Philip, Alex and me somehow had a sugar rush I think.... Haha XD
While Lim was slowly enjoying his 'orange cocktail' , we entered his room to choose some songs from his laptop for the party....
At around 6.30, Lim decided to take a shower to prepare for the party....
There was this drawer of his in the cupboard that he does not want us to open so he locked it....
I was somehow curious what was in it, but I could not open it...
All of a sudden the clothes in his cupboard caught my attention....
I browse through his cupboard and found two nice clothings...
One was his piano clothes and the other was a traditional chinese clothes for man...
I showed it to Philip and Alex and they decided to put it on for the party >.<
Hehe....

When Lim came back he was in a shock to see them wearing his clothes....

Then we decided to use some hair gel to spike up our hair....
We entered Lim's father room and used the gel there....
Not long after the guest started to arrive.....
We said the theme of clothing was to wear Lim's clothes....
And all the guys came one by one to try out his clothes.... LOL!!!
His shirt all got dirty thanks to us XD....
By 8 o'clock, everyone had arrived and we went out to barbeque our dinner....
Lim's dad had already prepared the barbeque pit while we were all having a chat inside....
There was chicken, hotdog, corn, otak-otak, crab....
But there was one problem...
The pit they have does not use the wire type....
It was using the iron bars so it was kinda big for us to barbeque it properly...
So we decided to use a frying pan... haha....
First time ever have you heard people barbeque with a frying pan....

Everyone was outside chit chatting and eating....
I was doing the barbeque and I sweat like hell because of the heat....
Soon after, we went in....
It showed 9.30 on the clock and it was time to blow Lim's birthday cake....
We had fun even just to sing a birthday song....
We even sang it in Malay because we do not know how to sing it in chinese of tamil....
Haha.... Then we asked Lim to do a certain birthday tradition which he does not know about....
Feeding the cherry to the people who are dear to him....
He gave one to his dad, his brother, Leng May (his girlfriend XD) and Alex....
After that, we ate some cake and we continue with our chit chat all around the house...
Some in his room, some at the living room.....
Loi was already high that time....
He was acting strange because earlier he had drank too much.....
It was kinda scary to see someone like that.... I'm not gonna say much about it but seriously it was not fun to see someone like that.... He even cried later on....
Leng May and Wendy was in the room at one time....
They were watching a video and some of us came in to watch....
It seemed like a horror at first but it was a freaking hilarious video.... You have got to watch it....
It's called the Horribly Slow Murderer with the Extremely Inefficient Weapon by Richard Gale...
This is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VDvgL58h_Y
Somewhere around 11+ ,  some of us were gathered at the dining table to have a private talk....
It was Alex, Jason Too, Philip, Daryl, Harish and me....
When it was almost around 12, we opened the red wine that Lim's dad gave us to chill earlier...
It was strong and nice wine...\
Alex mixed it using his bartending knowledge and it was delicious...
I do not want to mention the things he mix it with to keep his secret XD....
While drinking my dad came and I had no choice but to down my red wine... (Haiz... cannot enjoy it >.<)
Well we had lots of fun....
I did not take much photos though but there were a few....
One of which were Harish and Philip camwhoring....

I really enjoyed myself that day....
Lim is gonna invite us over again for Chinese New Year and I'm really looking forward to it...
